Will the PSVR Work/Be Compatible With the New PS5?
At this stage, it’s impossible to tell if the PSVR and as of yet unannounced PS5 will be compatible. Opinions differ; some think that Sony will support backwards compatibility while others believe the architecture of the new system will be too different. We can only wait and see.
Will the PSVR Fit My Head?
Yes, it should do. We found the PlayStation VR to be incredibly comfortable, and the straps are easy to adjust. There’s also plenty of room for those who wear glasses.
Will the PlayStation VR Make Me Sick?
There’s no definite answer to this. If you’re prone to experiencing motion sickness, then you might do here too. Sitting down might help the experience, as will turning the headset off if you start to feel dizzy.
Can the PlayStation VR Be Used On a PC?
Officially, the answer is no. Sony doesn’t provide any support for playing with a PC. You’ll need a PS4 console in order to run PlayStation VR games. However, some third-party software does offer the ability to play certain Steam VR games with a PSVR headset.
Can the PSVR Play Regular PlayStation Games?
Yes, all non-PSVR PS4 games can be played using the headset’s Cinematic mode. This means you can play non-VR games on a virtual big screen when you are wearing the device.
Does the PSVR Work On Steam?
There is no official support for the PSVR on the SteamVR platform. However, certain third-party software means that some Steam games can be played on it.
Does the PlayStation VR Work On the PS4 Slim?
Yes, the PSVR is compatible with all models of the PS4, including the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro.
Can the PlayStation VR Headset Be Used as a Screen?
Yes, it’s possible to use the PSVR as a screen for a number of purposes. You can watch 360-degree videos, play non-VR games on a virtual screen, and even play media from other consoles using the headset.
Can the PSVR Damage Your Eyes?
There is no definitive evidence that the PSVR damages your eyes. However, some experts have raised concerns that intense use over long periods could lead to vision strain.
Does the PSVR Work Without a PS4?
In order to get the full virtual reality experience, you will need a PS4 to use the headset. An HDMI connection can be used to access the PSVR’s Cinematic mode, but this won’t be making use of the full spectrum of features.
Does the PlayStation VR Work With the Original PS4?
Yes, the PSVR works with all generations of the PS4 console, from the original to the PS4 Pro.
Can the PSVR Play 3D and Blu-Ray Movies?
Yes, a recent software update means that the PlayStation VR will now automatically play 3D Blu-Ray movies using the system’s cinematic mode.
Where Is PlayStation VR Power Button / How Do You Turn the PSVR Off?
On the first generation of headsets, there is a small controller on the cable that controls the power. The newer devices use an on/off button which can be found at the bottom of the visor.
Should You Use the PSVR When Pregnant?
There are no official warnings for pregnant women using the headset. However, the long-term effects of using VR devices are unknown. You should take every precaution when using the PSVR.
When is the PlayStation VR 2 Coming Out?
There are so far no details confirmed for the release date of the PSVR 2. Sony hasn’t even confirmed such a device exists. However, many people expect the next PlayStation console to launch sometime in 2020, so we could see news then.
Why is PSVR Not for Under-12s?
Most VR devices aren’t designed to be used by children. The PSVR may be damaged during use, and small parts could pose a choking hazard. Some experts also claim that there is potential for eye strain when using the headset.
Why is my PSVR Blurry?
There could be a few reasons for the blurriness. The first is that your lenses may be dirty. Try cleaning them to see if that helps. Secondly, you may want to adjust the headset to make sure it fits correctly. Finally, you can configure the eye-to-eye distance in the PSVR’s settings screen.
Why Does the PlayStation VR Need a Camera?
The PlayStation Eye camera is used to track the user’s head and hand motions when using the PSVR headset. Sensors in the headset and controllers have sensors that the camera picks up.
How Much Space Do You Need for the PSVR? How Far from the Camera Should I Be?
Sony’s website indicates that you will need an area 3m (9.8 feet) by 1.9m (6.2 feet) in order to use the PlayStation VR. There is no recommendation for the distance from the camera, but around 4-6 feet seems to work well.
How Do You Clean the PSVR’s Lenses?
Cleaning the PlayStation VR’s lenses is easy, but some care and attention is required. First, use only a dry, lint-free microfiber cloth. One of these is included with the device. Gently make circles with the cloth as you wipe the lenses. Do not use any liquids or cleaners.
How Do You Re-centre the PSVR?
If you hold down the Options button on the DualShock or Move controllers, the PSVR will re-centre itself.
How Do You Focus the PlayStation VR?
There are two ways to focus the display of the PSVR. The first is to adjust the headset positioning while accessing the PlayStation VR Settings (choose ‘Check how to Put on VR Headset’). The second is to use the ‘Measure Eye-to-Eye Distance’ setting and follow the on-screen instructions, which will focus the device to your eyes.
How Do You Use Headphones With the PSVR?
You can connect headphones using a 3.5mm jack. The PSVR pack includes a pair of wired earbuds.
How Do You Use the Cinematic Mode on the PSVR?
The Cinematic mode should automatically start when your turn on the PS4 and PSVR. From here, you’ll be able to change the screen settings by going to Settings > Devices > PlayStation VR > Cinematic Mode.
How Do You Use the PlayStation VR Move Controllers?
The Move controllers use sensors that the PlayStation Camera tracks. To set them up, you need to attach the mini-USB cable from the motion controller to the PS4. Hold down the PS button on the controller, and it will pair with the system.
Are the PSVR Graphics Good?
It depends who you ask. In our PSVR review, we were impressed by how well the PSVR performs given its cost. The technology isn’t as good as a high-end PC or PS4 Pro game, but it’s still very immersive and gets the most out of the hardware.
Are PlayStation VR Games Region Free?
The games and hardware for the PSVR are not region locked. However, any DLC you purchase will be locked to the region that the game is registered in.
Are PSVR Games Better On PS4 Pro?
In theory, as the PS4 Pro has more graphical processing power, it should provide a better virtual reality experience. However, it really depends on the game and whether it has been optimised to take advantage of the Pro’s extra power.
Are PlayStation VR Games Multiplayer?
In many cases, the games are multiplayer in one way or another. Some are specifically for single players, but some of the best VR games are multiplayer.
Are the PSVR Move Controllers Worth It?
In our review, we were a little disappointed with the PlayStation Move controllers. They don’t track as well as other VR controllers and they feel a bit cheap. However, they are still far better for virtual reality than just using the DualShock 4 controls. Our favourite controller for the PSVR is the Aim.
